The Melbourne Municipal Band (MMB) is an all-volunteer, non-profit, full symphonic concert band serving East Central Florida. The Melbourne Municipal Band is NOT in Australia.

The MMB performs all types of symphonic band literature, and also offers music education at various levels of skill and ability. All ages are welcome. The Concert Band rehearses Tuesday nights at 7:30 in the band room behind the Melbourne Auditorium. The MMB also maintains some smaller groups, such as the Swingtime dance band, a brass choir and a Dixieland band.

The MMB symphonic band holds FREE concerts all year round in the Melbourne Auditorium. It also performs at various community activities, such as the Melbourne 4th of July celebration, and at Walt Disney World.

Currently conducted by Principal Conductor Mr. Clair Christy and managed by Assistant Conductor and General Manager Mr. David A. Ewing, the MMB has been performing in the Melbourne area since 1968.

Current rehearsal schedules are as follows:


Mondays: 4:00 pm - Melbourne Community Orchestra (Strings)
5:15 pm - Melbourne Community Orchestra
7:30 pm - Swingtime (every 2nd and 4th monday)
7:30 pm - Dixieland (3rd monday only)
Tuesdays: 7:15 pm - MMB Concert Band
Thursdays: 4:00 pm - Melbourne Youth Band
7:00 pm - MCO (Strings only)
